What is abu jahl?

Abu Jahl, whose real name was Umayyah ibn Khalaf, was a prominent leader of the Quraysh tribe in Mecca during the time of Prophet Muhammad. He was a staunch opponent of Islam and played a key role in persecuting early Muslims.

Abu Jahl was known for his arrogance, cruelty, and hostility towards the Prophet Muhammad and his followers. He was one of the main instigators of the opposition against Islam and used his influence and power to try to suppress the spread of the new faith.

Despite being warned by the Prophet Muhammad about the consequences of his actions, Abu Jahl continued to persecute Muslims and actively worked against the message of Islam. He played a key role in the boycott of the Prophet and his followers, as well as in the physical and verbal abuse of Muslims.

Abu Jahl was killed during the Battle of Badr in 624 CE, where he led the Quraysh army against the Muslims. His death marked a significant victory for the early Muslim community and a turning point in their struggle against persecution.
